SMobile and Symbol recently co-validated SMobile's VirusGuard solution for mobile anti-virus protection, earning the SymbolPLUS Validation, which reflects the highest levels of system interoperability with Symbol products.

SMobile VirusGuard offers complete anti-virus and malware protection for the broadest range of mobile platforms and devices on the market, including the only SymbolPLUS Validated anti-virus solution for the Windows Mobile platform. The Symbol Validation team tested VirusGuard's ability to deliver best-in- class quality and performance across a range of Symbol devices, including the rugged MC9000 and MC3000 series of mobile computers, and the MC50 and MC70 Enterprise Digital Assistants (EDA). SMobile and Symbol engineers performed a series of tests to co-validate the performance and interoperability over a Symbol Wi-Fi network infrastructure. SMobile Systems successfully met all test objectives, and was granted the SymbolPLUS Validated logo.

The SymbolPLUS Validation service is a benefit offered to members of the Symbol PartnerSelect program and certain Symbol customer that entitles them to co-test their integrated solution assuring customers of high quality and system interoperability. Members of the Symbol Solutions Division work with the partner at the Symbol Solutions Center testing facility to validate the partner's integrated end-to-end solution using Symbol products including mobile devices, wireless infrastructure and mobility management software. Detailed test cases are constructed to exercise the intended functionality under a variety of customer usage scenarios. Upon successfully completing the test objectives, the partner's solution is granted the SymbolPLUS Validated solution logo.
