Users are now developing MMS applications, such as blogging, group messaging, dating services, contests, and gaming, that allow an increasing number of users to employ the power of digital communications.

SMobile enables carriers to further drive revenue and adoption of mobile messaging services by protecting the user MMS experience. MMS is a common vector of attack that has experienced significant malware and virus activity, such as the CommWarrior trojan. CommWarrior replicates over MMS by sending MMS messages that contain infected files to other users. This creates unwanted MMS traffic and fraudulent service charges, therefore impacting user experience and operator revenue.

SMobile MMS-Scan enables a secure messaging solution that is built for the complexity of the mobile environment. MMS-Scan is easily integrated into the existing MMSC, and does not require labor-intensive exercise.

How It Works

MMS messages are distributed through the Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) within the operator’s network. The MMSC is capable of routing thousands of messages per second. This creates a large window of opportunity for malware, such as viruses and trojans to infect the operator’s network and disrupt service.

SMobile MMS-Scan is placed at the MMSC interface and scans all MMS / Email traffic for malware activity. MMS-Scan supports all MMS (MM1-MM7), SMTP and POP3 protocols.

SMobile provides standard, customized and ad hoc reporting to meet the specific needs of the operator.
